About our farm
Grown to Order
In order to provide the freshest microgreens possible to our customers, we only grow a certain amount each week to cover all our standing orders PLUS some extra trays for our new customers who place orders online. This way, everything is super fresh, and it minimizes waste. We consider Roots Vertical Farm to be a “Grown-to-Order” farm.
We currently grow 5 of our most popular varieties on a weekly basis. So, if you place an order from our in-stock microgreens, it should be hand delivered within a few days of placing your order. If you order and we dont have inventory, we will seed your order the following day and it will be ready within 10-14 days, depending on the variety you ordered.
If you choose to use our “Subscribe and Save” subscription option, we’ll continue to grow your microgreens and deliver them on the weekly interval you selected. Using this method assures that we will always have microgreens ready for you!

Utilizing sustainable practices along with vertical farming, our goal is to educate the public on the benefits of adding microgreens to your diet. We grow many varieties of microgreens, with lettuce, mushrooms and herbs on the way, we are your source for a true farm to table experience.
Hydroponics
Water Use
Closed-loop hydroponics recirculates water from our tanks to our crops and back again. This process captures and reuses roughly 90% of the water that would otherwise be wasted in runoff, making it an incredibly sustainable method of farming.
Vertical Farming
Vertical hydroponics allows us to maximize space and reduce our carbon footprint. Rather than use acres and acres of land, extracting valuable resources from the soil, we can maximize our space by growing upward.
